Hello, everyone!

When you think about it, it isn’t very long until New Year at all. If you want to ring your New Year in style, you could throw your own stylish party. Sound like a good idea to you? Here are some pointers that could help you start planning today:

Who Do You Want To Spend Your New Year With?

Have a think about who you want to spend your New Year with. Bear in mind that work friends and people like that will probably have their own plans for New Year’s day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t invite them. Sometimes, the best New Year parties are those with only your closest friends and family.

Where Do You Want To Spend It?

Do you want to spend your New Year in your favorite club, or at home? Where are you going to feel happiest, and most comfortable? Having a party at home will allow your guests to get a little more comfortable. Having a party in a club or somewhere like that will be more expensive and formal, but it does have benefits. Do you want to clean up afterwards or not? Do you want to risk guests passing out on your sofa? It’s up to you!

Send Out Your Invites In Advance

Make sure you leave plenty of time for your invites, or people will start making plans without you. You can print custom invitations to let guests get a feel for what your party will be like. Ask for RSVPs so you know how many people to expect. Then you can begin budgeting and planning accordingly.

Pick The Perfect Color Scheme and Decor

If you want a stylish party, the perfect color scheme and decor are essential. How about incorporating lots of black to get a stylish feel? Rich colors always look more expensive. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t include brights and patterns. Just make sure you take your time.

Consider A Dress Code

It’s New Year, so why not make your dress code something special? Request that everybody get dressed up to celebrate. It doesn’t matter if you’re just having your party at home! When people dress up, they’ll usually be on their best behavior. Hopefully, this means you won’t have anybody throw up on your carpets. It isn’t a guarantee, though.

Think About Serving A Meal

You could serve a nice sit down meal to your guests if you’re only inviting your nearest and dearest. You could cook up the poshest meal you can think of, or even just make some nibbles for people to soak up the alcohol.

Create A Signature Cocktail

Have fun creating a signature cocktail. Try to make it one that everybody will like. Remember, presentation is important when it comes to cocktails. Rim the glass with black sugar for a sleek feel!

How Will You Ring In The New Year?

Think about ringing in the New Year too. Will you purchase your own fireworks or watch others from the window? This is the most important part!

So, what do you think? It’s a little bit early to start planning the most stylish New Year’s party? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.

As always, thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Fantastic tips for New Year, not sure what we are going to do for Hogmany as we call it here in Scotland but last year we had my parents round for nibbles and drinks. Definitely agree with getting dressed up for it though ? xx

Fantastic tips and ideas – I love throwing parties! We always travel to see family during the holidays and usually only know where will be rather last minute so we usually hope to be invited somewhere for New Years (for now). However, it’s my dream to host a party like this so hopefully sometime in the near future 🙂

Although I’m never really excited about the NYE, Christmas is indeed very soon and I’m looking forward to it! I might even use some of your tips to style it up!

Great suggestions. New Years happens to fall on the anniversary of when I got with my partner so I tend to spend it with him and sometimes his family. But this year might make it a bit more special since it will be our 5th year together 🙂

We are always so casual for New Years. Especially right now with kids who are too young to stay up until midnight just yet. We typically have a couple of neighbors over and do a pot luck and bonfire in the driveway and watch all of the fireworks in our neighborhood. I would love to do something like this in a few years, though, when the kids are a bit older.

I love the idea of holding a chic, formal dinner party at home! I’ll be spending New Year’s at home with my 3 little boys… but a girl can dream!

Oh, dear – you make me feel so OLD! Fond memories of when my hubby and I were younger and we’d go out on New Year’s Eve to a friend’s house for a party – now we all have kids under 10 at home, so that’s the end of that for awhile! 🙂

I love this suggestions! Holiday season is coming so far I don’t have a plan yet! Great idea of you!

Those are really good tips, how to prepare for planning, this year I have decided to not stress about it at all. I think we will plan to go on some bar and make it unusual for us. For years, we have had those little gatherings. =)

I love the holidays, especially New Years. We use to go out partying for NYE but now with young children we much rather spend it at home. We don’t do anything crazy, just spending time with family and good friends, laughing and joking!

Great idea to start planning your new years party now. Love that you request people to dress up. It does mat the party environment that much more festive.
