Avoid Disaster On Your Next Night Out By Perfecting Your Look

Hello everyone!

We all want to look our best on a night out. In fact, getting ready for the night is quite often the most exciting part. You know the feeling. The evening’s still fizzing with possibility and you’re starting to feel good. A sure way to kill that feeling is not being able to get your look right when it matters. In fact, it can kill the mood so much that you don’t want to go at all anymore. Then you spend the rest of the night sitting in the corner and feeling terrible. Sound familiar? Don’t worry; we’ve all been there. We’re going to take a look at some tips to ensure you don’t have any appearance disasters on your next big night out.

OUTFIT

Getting your outfit right is the first step in ensuring you look good on the night. Decide whether you have something suitable in your wardrobe, or use the night as the perfect excuse to buy something new. After all, none of us need much of a push to get a new dress! Wearing something new will also ensure that you feel good, which is half the battle. When considering your options, keep in mind what kind of event you’re attending. Is it a work do, or a New Year’s Party you’ve got coming up? Is it smart of casual? Turning up in something inappropriate will knock your confidence straight away. If you’re shopping, make sure to try on all your picks. It’s hard to judge an outfit when it’s still on the hanger. If you’re wearing something you already own, try it on in advance. If you need to make any alterations, give yourself plenty of time to do them. Last minutes things like that can throw you into a panic on the night, and will instantly affect the mood.

ACCESSORIES

Spare a thought for accessories, too. Pull out the jewelry box and revisit pieces you haven’t worn in years. If nothing matches the outfit you have in mind, treat yourself to something new. Having a little something shiny can do magical things to how you feel. There are so many necklaces for women, just take your pick. Of course, the options don’t stop at necklaces. Choose too, whether you want to wear bracelets and rings. If you have your legs on show, an ankle bracelet could add a lovely bit of sparkle.

MAKEUP

With your outfit finished, turn your attention to your makeup. Getting makeup right on the night is one of the riskiest parts. Why does it always seem that makeup goes wrong when we most want it to look right? Try to avoid that by practicing your makeup style beforehand. That way, you can tweak your plans depending on how it looks. Going a little heavier with makeup than usual can look striking on a night out, but be careful. There’s a fine line between looking sultry and clown like. Even a little too much could tip the balance the wrong way.

And what about you? What is the number one priority for an effortless and successful evening out? Let us know in the comment section below.

As always, thank you for visiting and have a great day!

These are so wonderful tips! No matter how hard I focus on what to wear a day before I end up changing clothes at least three times 15minutes before leaving lol 😀

Haha, I commit these Cardinal errors all the time! I end up throwing something on at the last minute and then feeling frumpy all night, I can never find all my accessories and makeup? Forget about it! I splosh it on just before I run out. Definitely hit home this post – I’ll make more on an effort from now on 🙂

I usually prepare days before and if that is not possible, the moment I am told of an event I usually think of at least 3 choices… and try them on before making a final pick.

Great tips! I love accessories, especially statement necklaces, but I’m always super careful as I don’t want to look tacky.
