He’s Popped The Question. You’ve Said Yes. What Comes Next?

Hello everyone!

He’s got down on one knee, taken your hand, and asked you to marry him. You’ve happily agreed and are over the moon at your new relationship status. The question is after he’s proposed what comes next? Obviously, marriage comes next, but what I mean is what comes immediately after – aka how should you celebrate?

How you choose to celebrate your engagement is up to you and your husband-to-be – it’s a very personal choice. There’s no right or wrong way to celebrate; it’s completely down to personal preference.

Just in case you’re a little stuck for ideas, below are a few suggestions for celebrating your engagement in style.

Go ring shopping together

If he hasn’t picked out a ring – a lot of men prefer not to these days, then a great way to celebrate your engagement could be to go ring shopping together. The best way to start the ring shopping process is to spend some time online, browsing reviews of all of your favorite ring designers, such as reading a Tiffany and Co review, for instance. Then, once you’ve decided where you want to get your ring from, you can then start looking at the different designs and styles that they offer, either online or in store, making the process of finding the perfect one, even easier.

Throw a party

To celebrate your news with all of yours’ and your partner’s family and friends, consider throwing an engagement party. This doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive; it can just be a small get together with all of your nearest and dearest. Of course, if you want to plan a massive do, you can do that instead – it just depends on yours’ and your partner’s personal preference, that’s all.

Have an engagement photo shoot

If you want to celebrate your engagement by making memories with your partner, why not plan an engagement photo shoot? Not only do engagement photo shoots allow you to make some incredible memories with your partner, they are also a great way to find a photographer for your upcoming nuptials. Finding the right photographer can sometimes be a struggle, but once you’ve found them, you’re set.

Head out for cocktails and champagne

Fancy more of an intimate celebration with just the two of you present? Then why not head out for a night of cocktails and champagne? Perhaps there’s a champagne bar that you love or a restaurant that serves the most amazing cocktails that you could head to? If you want a more relaxed and romantic celebration, going out for drinks could be the perfect way to celebrate. You could always invite a couple of close friends to join you if you want to share your news, or you could keep it small with just the two of you.

How you choose to celebrate your engagement is up to you and your partner. You can choose to do one of these things, a combination, or none of them, it’s completely up to you. But make sure that you celebrate in one way or another – after all, you only get engaged once, so it’s important to mark the occasion and make memories.

So, what about you? How did you celebrate your engagement? Share your experiences with us in the comments below.

As always, thank you for visiting and have a great day!

It was such a long time ago that I got engaged (we split up years ago ?) but we never had a party, in fact I can’t even remember what we did to celebrate! As you can see he was a keeper ?

Nice post! We had a little party with friends straight away (we got engaged in holiday during which we were staying in a big house with our friends). After couple week we had an engagement party for approximately 100 people 🙂 He had already bought me a perfect ring so only ring we (still) have to shop together is the wedding ring.

We popped a bottle, cried of happiness and then called family and friends. Couple of weeks later we had a small engagement party.
