At this time of year, most of us are thinking about which beach destination to head to this summer, aren’t we? Well, this year, instead of heading off for a beach break, what about doing something a little different? How about planning a city break this summer, instead of heading off for a beach break? You might love sun, sand, and sea, but the chances are that you will also enjoy a city break, it’s just a case of choosing that perfect destination, like Hong Kong, for instance.
If you opt to head to Hong Kong, you can get the best of both worlds; a city break and a beach break in one. You see, Hong Kong is located by the sea, which means that as well as being a thriving city, it also boasts lots of beautiful beaches. What could be better than that – a city break and a beach break combined? To plan the most amazing summer trip to Hong Kong, below are some tips and advice.
Decide how long to go for
The first step to planning any trip should always be to decide how long to go for. As Hong Kong has a lot to offer, from beautiful beaches to a metropolitan city to explore, a few days isn’t going to be long enough to make the most of this unique destination. So ideally, you want to plan a trip that’s at least seven days in length but ideally more – 14 days is probably the perfect amount of time to see and do everything that you want to.
Find that perfect hotel
Once you know how long you want to go for, the next step is to find that perfect place to stay. They say that where you stay can make or break your trip and they are totally right. So it’s important to take your time picking that perfect place to stay. When it comes to the different Hong Kong hotels on offer, there are plenty of options to choose from; it’s just a case of taking your budget and location requirements into account. If you’re not keen to take taxis or use public transport to get around, then it’s best to book accommodation that’s close to the city center.
Research the best beaches
As part of the preparation for your trip, take the time to research the best beaches near to where you’re staying. Some of the best beaches in Hong Kong include Tai Long Wan, South Bay Beach, Golden Beach, and Big Wave Bay. You want to look out for beaches that are a short walk away and have all the facilities that you could possibly need.
Look into the must-see sights and attractions
Obviously, you will want to spend plenty of time at the beach, but you will also want to explore the sights and attractions on offer. So it’s worth taking the time to read up on all of the best things to see and do while you are in Hong Kong, to ensure that you can make the most of your time there. From the famous Tian Tan Buddha to Po Lin Monastery, there’s lots to see and do, so it’s worth researching everything on offer and creating an itinerary for your trip.
