Could you believe I have never had any Makeup Revolution product until now? Yes, this was really true but now things have changed. Makeup Revolution recently collaborated with vlogger Sophdoesnails and they released two new palettes: Makeup Revolution X Soph Eyeshadow Palette and Makeup Revolution X Soph Highlighter Palette. I was eager to get them as the colors look fantastic and also they don’t cost a lot. I ordered them from Revolution Beauty and as the shipping to my country is free for over 40 euro orders, I added a few more products in my basket. It was a good
excuse chance, to try more from this brand so I ended up with 6 new additions from Makeup Revolution. Besides, does anyone have enough palettes or lipsticks?
First thing first, look at the packaging: the palette comes in a box, (created by Soph), a nude-beige box with rose golds accents, beautiful and chic, a real pleasure for the eyes. The palette has a mirror inside and contains 24 shades! This versatile palette I think is suitable for every skin type as the shades vary from the very light ones to the darkest ones. There is even a very dark shade, almost black, which is called nightmare!
There are 10 shimmers shades and 14 matte shades. The first row contains very light and soft shades, even a white one and is perfect for everyday looks: Pink champagne, iced coffee and cuppa tea, all create a natural look while the fairy lights can be used as a highlighter as well. The second and the other two rows contain more warm shades: sparks fly, festive flame, copper cain, perfect for autumnal looks. Smokey eyes and gold rose looks are the ones I will create with these shades. There are also green and blue shades as pine tree and petrol, which I think both will create more glamorous looks, the best ones for Christmas.
The shades are very pigmented, especially the shimmers. They are all soft textured and easy to blend and you can create many different looks as most of the shades can be matched ideally. The palette costs €12,5/£10.00
The palette itself comes in a nude color, the same one as the eye-shadow. The box is in nude-beige with rose gold accents, just like the eye-shadow palette as well. There are 8 different shades (5 baked and 3 pressed), so I think it’s quite impossible not to find one or two suitable shades for your skin type. The first row contains beige, nude gold, generally more natural shades and even one very light, almost like silver. The second row contains pink, rose gold, copper and a purple shade. You can wear them as it is or you can mix them to create even more colors.
The highlighter palette is pigmented and the texture is very soft, exactly as the shimmer shades of the eye-shadow palette. Having tried these Make up Revolution products for the first time, I have to say that I am really impressed by the quality and I am so glad that I have added them to my collection. The products might be very affordable but the quality and their performance are incredible. You can find the highlighter palette at Revolution Beauty for €10/£8.00
As a person who loves blushes, I am always ready for a few more new shades. Most of my blushes are between pink and nude/pink because I find that I can wear them easily anytime. This palette contains 8 shades, matte and shimmers, perfect for highlighting and contouring too. They are all different shades of pink, the 4 of them are matte and the other 4 are shimmer. The two shades on the right side can be used easily as eye-shadows as well. They are all highly pigmented and so easy to blend. All the Makeup Revolution palettes are vegan, cruelty-free and gluten free. Costs €8.40/£6.00
Just when you think that most of the setting powders are almost the same, you find a new one and it happens to be different. The Makeup Revolution baking powder is a very soft and light, nude-pink toned powder. It offers a light to medium coverage and it’s almost invisible. It lasts long and after wearing it for a few hours doesn’t dry out my skin and doesn’t stay around my eyes (around the fine lines). The powder gives me a matte but satin finish, it feels almost like not wearing powder at all. You can get yours for only €7.01/£5.00
Well, well! Another one lipstick in my collection! But this, wouldn’t be a real haul without a lipstick (or two), would it be? I was a bit skeptical whether a lipstick with this price would be good at all, but I wanted to try one-two products, mostly to have an idea on Makeup Revolution lipsticks. So, I chose this one just because I liked the color of it, something between berry, redwood and reddish brown. When first time applied it on my hand it looked more like berry, but on my lips it is a little bit different color, almost red to burgundy, with just an accent of ruby. But it’s beautiful and so autumnal. The texture is soft and the pigmentation good, but doesn’t stay too long. It smells like vanilla also which is okay for lipsticks and it doesn’t dry out my lips. I like this lipstick and its formula and considering the low price I would love to try more shades of it. If you would like to try it, you can find it here and costs €3.49/£2.49
This is the last product I got, a pinkish nude lipstick. I have many different nude lipsticks (who doesn’t have anyway) as every one of them is different from the other and I wear them no matter what the season is. This is the first pink-nude lipstick (not nude-pink) I got, but is so more pink and I think I will keep it for later, for Spring or Summer. As for the formula, is soft, pigmented, applies easily but after a while I feel my lips dried and I need whether to apply it again or to use lip balm before I put it on. This finish finally, is too matte for me. Find it for only €4.21/£3.00
In overall, both two lipsticks are affordable and value for price paid. Their packaging is beautiful, the Iconic Pro lipstick comes in black with rose gold details and the Iconic Matte nude comes in rose gold packaging. The bottom is clear making the shades visible while the color coding is written on it. They are also vegan, cruelty-free and gluten free. Their quality is good, especially the Iconic Pro lipstick, which already took a place in my autumnal makeup bag. If the Iconic Matte Nude lipstick didn’t dry out my lips, it would be also a great buy.
Well, these are all the Makeup Revolution products I got and tried this month. I am happy with them and satisfied so much, that I already added 5 more products in my wishlist.
