THE PERFECT BASE: PHOTO FOCUS BY WET N WILD

Hello, everyone!

Either you are a beginner with makeup or a professional one, I am pretty sure you all know that a good looking face starts with the perfect base. After cleaning and moisturizing your skin you need to create a canvas in your face upon which you will apply your makeup. And here comes the new Photo Focus collection from Wet n Wild.

A few weeks ago I was kindly sent the new Photo Focus Foundation and the new Photo Focus Concealer from Wet n Wild/Greece, (along with a few more makeup products). I had already the Photo Focus Pressed Powder from this collection, so I was looking forward to trying all the three products together, in order to find out how they work in general and how they perform on my skin.

PHOTO FOCUS FOUNDATION*

This new base was made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin no-filter perfection, without reflecting any white casts in a range of photo situations. According to Wet n Wild, the foundation has been tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash, to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. The foundation comes in a bottle with a screw cap, including a spatula, which makes the application very easy.  You can use only as much as you want! When I first opened the bottle I noticed a strong scent but once the foundation was dried after application, the scent almost disappeared.

I apply the foundation with my makeup sponge but you can use your fingers or a brush. You can easily apply it as the formula is not either thick or thin and blends out quickly. It is very build-able and has a full coverage (covers also any redness in my face) and the finish is matte and silk. It’s very lightweight, it’s almost like not wearing foundation at all, leaving the skin looking bright and flawless.

There are 20 different shades which vary from porcelain to rose ivory to bronze beige to mahogany. The foundation is cruelty-free and vegan and very affordable. $5.99/6,99€

PHOTO FOCUS CONCEALER*

This high coverage concealer has been tested under 7 light conditions in order to avoid the white casts under they eyes area, just as the whole Photo Focus collection.  It’s lightweight and creamy and the consistency is medium, not very thin, not very thick either. I was sent the shade light ivory, the lightest one shade which is perfect for my fair skin. The concealer covers the dark circles under my eyes and brightens the area, and also conceals the redness around my nose and a few red spots on my cheeks. I love how natural looking, soft and silky is the finish. You can choose your shade between 6 different shades which vary from light ivory to dark cocoa. $3.99/3,99€

PHOTO FOCUS PRESSED POWDER

I had used the powder with other foundation than the Photo Focus and I loved the way I felt it in my skin, smooth finish and not heavy or cakey at all. Once I received the Photo Focus Foundation and Concealer I used all the three products together. I am very impressed with the overall finish. They are three affordable pieces which perform very well either you use them all together or even individually. The foundation and the concealer are both so lightweight you almost forget that you are wearing them. As for the powder, you can use it to set your foundation and your concealer or only your concealer. In both cases, you only need a small amount of it and you get the coverage and the bright, shine-free face you expect.

You can find the products here or here if you are in Greece.

I only need now to take some photos having used the Photo Focus collection in order to find out if white casts will be visible in my pictures.

Have you ever tried any product from the Photo Focus collection or any other Wet n Wild product?

I was on the fence whether to buy these or not. I opted not to since I have bought some other foundations recently. But these products all look great, especially for the price point.

That foundation looked really good. I need to get more into foundation which I used years ago, but now I just wear a little concealer and keep it moving. Maybe they will bring this line to the US.

Great review and pics! I so rarely wear make-up these days, that I’ve forgotten some of the best practices.
