Hello, everyone!

Your mind is already wandering to that beach in the Caribbean, sipping a margarita with that little umbrella perched on the rim of your glass. Such is the excitement of going on a vacation, planning it is quite a different thing. You need a lot of preparations.

The best vacations are the ones which are the farthest from your home base, but those are the ones who need the most nitty-gritty details. If you are one who seeks adventure in your travels, Kandoo Adventures – might have what you are looking for. It caters to those who are seeking high-altitude adventures and makes challenging destinations accessible to those who wish for them.

Planning a vacation, especially the more challenging ones that need some extra thought, need some experts who know a great deal about the place, as well as safety procedures to implement. Thus, there are instances when hiring a travel agency is inevitable. Here’s how you know what to look for when hiring a travel agency.

1. Know your level of involvement

Some travelers prefer to be involved in all the aspects of planning and preparation for the vacation. Others leave the nitty-gritty details to the travel agency and see what it has to offer. It would be best if you can find a travel agency that shares your travel planning personality. Or better yet, you communicate the specific details that you want to be included in your travel plans. Most travel agencies go out of their way to give the best services that they can offer.

2. Know what questions to ask

When hiring a travel agency, ask how long the business has been existing to determine their work experience and how much traveling they have done. It will be a great idea to hire a travel agency which is familiar with your destination, so they can answer whatever inquiries you have about the place. Travel agencies are the best ones to ask for recommendations regarding the best accommodations, famous places to visit or great places to eat.

3. Look for reviews and recommendations

Relatives and friends who love to travel can give you the best recommendations on which travel agency to hire. They can tell you if they were satisfied and happy with the service. You can also research online and look for reviews and ratings of travel agencies to help you decide on which to hire. There are sites which list the travel agents with ratings, descriptions of their specializations and specific locations. You might also consider looking for a local agent who knows the most about your destination.

4. Visit your travel agency

Meeting the travel agent face-to-face gives some people more confidence in hiring them. One way you can be sure that your travel agency is legitimate is if you meet them in person at their office. It is also a good way to communicate all your travel concerns aside from talking on the phone or through emails.

5. Be ready with fees

Travel agencies usually don’t charge service fees because they get paid through commissions from the flights, hotels or holiday packages that they book. Extra fees are usually charged by agents when planning the trip is a bit complex, and the travel agent typically spends several hours planning a client’s trip; calling suppliers, booking hotels and flights and planning the itinerary among other things.

Sometimes, it would be a wiser option to hire a travel agency to plan your vacations. It could save all the aggravations you may encounter in preparing for your holiday. But first and foremost, you have to make sure that the travel agency you hire is someone you can trust with the leisure time you have long been looking forward to.

These are great tips 🙂 we usually book our trips on our own but especially now when D has got along we prefer using travel agencies especially during the long-distance tips. We’re thinking about Tui for our Maldives trip & with all-inclusive, especially well, because D. If it was just the two of us we probably would just pick the cheapest flights to our destination & spend 25-hour layover somewhere haha 😀

As a travel blogger, I always do the travel planning for my family and friends, but it takes a really long time so I definitely see the utility of using a trusted travel agent! I might point them towards this post next time 😉

Traveling can be difficult, and you may not want to sort through all the travel blogs yourself. Hiring an agency can make the trip so easy.

I have never used a travel agency for booking because we usually always do our own research and bookings but your tips are very helpful. My husband uses quite a few agencies for his work and they can really find great deals and make some more complicated bookings happen. And my grandmother always books all her vacations with travel agencies and has always been very happy with everything.

We used AAA for our honeymoon (the only time I’ve ever used a travel agent). It was the easiest experience and they kept it in our budget. Finding a good agent is so worth it!

I haven’t really traveled that much and when we do I am the travel agent I plan our whole itinerary. I do see the point of hiring a travel agency I will definitely do that when I decide to do a tour of Europe 🙂

Thanks for sharing these tips 🙂
