Spring is here and the last month, May is here as well. Of course, the weather some days plays with us but as time goes by, only warmer and sunnier days coming our way. That said, it’s time to leave behind darker shades and start adding some pretty pink hues and these four pink beauties in our Spring makeup collection.
Starting my collection,
with this new multi-tasking palette from Maybelline, the City Kits Pink Edge Palette. It’s an all-in-one palette, containing 8 eyeshadows, five matte and 3 shimmer shades. As for the colors, they vary from beige, rose gold and light pink to plum and dark brown. There is even a very dark one shade, perfect to create winged eyeliner or just to add volume on your lashes and create a smokey look. The palette contains also one blush in bright pink and one champagne highlighter. Shades are quite pigmented but I noticed some fall out, especially from the shimmer shades. Generally, it’s a great on the go palette, in a suitable size for the everyday makeup bag.
For my cheeks,
I like anything pink, from soft pink to rose pink to cherry pink. Milani Powder Blush in Bella Rosa is one of my favorites blushes for this season. First of all, the packaging and the rose shaped powder is simply beautiful and of course so photogenic which makes it a fantastic photo staple. Its texture is smooth and creamy matte and quite blend-able I would say. As for the color, the Bella Rosa shade isn’t high pigmented and that’s really great as I can have an intense color or not, depending on my current overall makeup. For my fair skin tone, the color is beautiful, romantic and so natural looking.
Pink bright lips,
and other pink shades seem to be my favorites when it comes to lipsticks as well. And I say hot pink lips as this is exactly the lipstick I reach for the most during spring. The shade Kidman’s Kiss from the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips collection is a rose-petal pink shade, a pinkish nude lipstick with a matte yet creamy finish. The formula is gorgeous, soft and buttery, so so comfortable on the lips. The lipstick is quite pigmented and might transfer a little, but as it is lightweight, long-lasting and wearable shade, it’s a great choice for every day and fresh makeup looks. Did I mention the light vanilla scent? It’s absolutely delicious!
The final touch,
in every makeup is the highlighter! Recently I got the Revolution Renaissance Illuminate – Radiant in Rose from Makeup Revolution, a palette of three powders which can be used as blush, highlighter or eyeshadow. From the packaging, a rose gold clasp compact to the product itself, its beautiful pinkish rose colors and shades scream Spring to me. I use the lighter one shade as a highlighter and I love the pink champagne finish. The medium shade looks like a pale peach but in my fair skin is more a pink shimmer shade so I prefer using it as an eyeshadow. It’s bright with only one application and really wearable, easy to combine it with other shades. As for the third shade, it’s again a pink glitter powder, suitable to use alone as a blush or to use over any other matte blush, when I want to have a more shiny look.
