Since it’s already June and the days are getting hotter I am dreaming of Summer vacations to a tropical island. But since I don’t have that chance at the moment, let me have at least my makeup inspired from a tropical paradise!
My love for Makeup Revolution products it’s not a new story! I am a palette lover as well, so when Revolution Beauty launched the Tropical Paradise palette in collaboration with Tammi I knew I had to have it. The palette is inspired by Tammi’s Caribbean roots as her granddad was born in Grenada, the island of spice in the Carribean. And this is exactly what this palette is: a tropical, spiced and colorful celebration of life!
The palette consists of 23 shades, 11 shimmers and 12 mattes. There are three transitional shades that can be used as a base, coconut cream, nutmeg, isle of spice. You may say that the two of them are too dark to be used as a base but keep in mind the Tammi designed and created the colors for every skin tone and wanted her palette to be a universal one. The colors are bright and bold; from beige to brown to red and from pink to purple to blue and green. There are also gold and bronze shades and beautiful ivory and sand, suitable to use them as a highlighter.
The shades are very pigmented. I know my fair skin tone can easily adapt to even the lightest pigmented shades but I am sure these shades will be great for darker skin tones as well. They are buildable also and you can choose the look you will create, a subtle one or an intense one, depending on how much you will build and blend them. The combinations I can create are endless. From a daytime look to an evening glamorous look, there are so many different color combos that I would need the whole summer to create all of them.
Another one recently launched product, the Gold Rush blush from Benefit Cosmetics, makes a successful combination with the Tropical Paradise palette. The coral-peach pinkish shade is infused with golden flecks which give a natural yet warm glow on my cheeks. It’s not so pigmented compared to other Benefit blushers but it’s blendable and long-lasting. Although I don’t prefer scented makeup products the smell is divine, a mix of citrus, vanilla and sandalwood, a scent that can transfer me in a magical and why not, a tropical place.
To complete the look I have chosen two different lipsticks. The first one is a matte pinkish nude lipstick from Makeup Revolution, one of the first products I got from this brand. I like the matte finish and to avoid any dryness on my lips I use my Too Faced Lip Primer before the application, which helps feeling more comfortable any kind of lipstick. Besides the pink and nude shades, during Summer I like the peach and coral shades so the second lipstick from Freedom London is a peach-coral yet nude color. It’s creamy and soft, hydrates the lips and the finish is kinda matte. For my evening looks, I like to add my Pixi Lip Icing gloss on the top of both of them, which adds glow instantly and makes my lips look filler.
