I don’t really want to sound cliche but I have to say this: where did June go? How did we make it to the half of the year already? Summer is here though and that’s the best part. And it’s time to share with you a few bits I loved this month. The June edition is here!
I never had a talent for painting or drawing. In fact, I can’t draw anything except flowers and trees and yet my drawing is too simple! I am sure It would remind you kids painting, and although some kids paint very well, I really don’t. But I like coloring and what’s better than a fashion inspired coloring book? The ”Vogue Colors a to z” is a fashion coloring book, the first ever coloring book from American Vogue!
The book contains 26 American Vogue illustrated covers from 1912 to 1932. Through the 26 letters of the alphabet, one for each cover, the book is taking me back to the time when fashionable women where dressed perfectly glamorous for any occasion. Whether it’s a woman clipping flowers in a garden, a woman driving a car or a woman getting ready in front of her vanity, every page brings fashion fantasies to life through my own colors. It is said that colouring has therapeutic benefits. I don’t have any serious mental health issues at the moment, only a few anxieties attacks every now and then, but as I want to do something creative this summer, the coloring book is a great idea. The book was a gift to me; a collaboration’s reward from the days I was on Polyvore, so it’s also a precious one!
Revolution Beauty did it again! A new palette, (along with a nude lipsticks collection) in collaboration with Sophdoesnails. A palette perfect for summery spicy and hot looks! The first palette from Soph is one of my favorites, so I was looking forward to having the second one in my hands. From the mirror effect rose-gold packaging to the very last shade, I love everything about it.
This second palette has a big difference from the first one: all the shades have the name underneath them and not on the protector sheet, and that’s really cool! As for the shades, they are mostly in warm tones, 12 matte and 6 shimmers. There are oranges, reds, yellows and even a few cool tones also, like the infinity. Some shades are more pigmented than others, (Vitamin C I think it’s the less pigmented) but all of them are soft, have a great color payoff and no fallout at all. Easy to blend and easier to combine each color shade with the other, this palette will surely take a place in my summer makeup looks!
Every time I go to the city I use to visit the local H&M store and in one of my lasts visits I found this beautiful crepe blouse. I don’t know how this happens, but I tend to find my favorite pieces whenever I don’t have something specific in my mind and ”I just have a look around”. Same happened when I got this blouse which I chose for two main reasons: the first one is the color, that redish-coral which is one of my favorites for the Summer. The second reason is the type of sleeves, the trumpet styled sleeves which make the blouse fresh and trendy. I love pairing it with jeans or cropped pants and colorful flats. The fabric is soft and lightweight, in other words suitable for warm weather and perfect for any time of the day.
So, what have you loved this first month of Summer? Let us know in the comment section below.
As always, thank you for visiting and have a great day!
