Dubai is a unique, futuristic, and luxurious city located in the east of the Arabian Peninsula with sunshine, coastline, desert, and city life. Millions of people flock to the city for a visit every year. Visitors get a feel of the traditional Arabic culture as well as the history, architecture, and modern luxuries of this city. With so much to see, do and experience here, Dubai should be on your radar for an upcoming trip.
Here is why Dubai is the perfect destination:
Dubai’s infrastructure is incredible and world-renowned. A few of the well-known structures in the city are Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, and Miracle Garden. From wherever you are, if you can get a view from up high for a skyline view, as well as the sea and the sand you will see the pure beauty of Dubai. Another structure to see is Palm Island, a man-made artificial island that is home to luxury mansions and hotels.
Dubai is a melting pot of cultures, due to the history of the city as well as it being a top destination for expats. In fact, over 85% of the population in the city is from abroad. Whether you have travelled abroad or not, visiting Dubai is a cultural experience as you get to be surrounded by people from so many different places.
Dubai is known for its nightlife, and if you like to go out and party this is a place to be. You will find the bars and clubs open every night of the week.
With so much cultural diversity, you are able to find cuisine from so many different places in Dubai. Aside from tasting the local Arabic cuisine, there is also Persian, Pakistani, Afghan, Italian, French cuisine and so much more. This is definitely a city to try something new, and enjoy dining out. Just be sure to call ahead to book reservations, as dining out is a popular experience here!
A trip to Dubai is not complete without a trip to the desert! You can go sandboarding, camel riding, dune bashing, and end your day watching the sunset. It is popular to go on a desert safari, where these activities are offered as well as others such as a traditional Arabic barbecue.
Dubai is a shopper’s paradise, and if you love to shop you can easily spend at least a few days just shopping alone (at least). You can find everything from luxury to high street goods here, and one of the most visited sites is actually the Dubai Mall. A couple events to keep in mind for booking a trip here are: the Dubai Shopping Festival in January (for huge discounts), the Dubai Summer Surprises every summer (for discounts), and the GITEX every October (for technology and gadgets).
Friendly reminder to also do your research before going to Dubai, because as a Muslim country it is important to respect their rules and laws while out and about in the city.
